Review of Talk to Her (2002) by James M — 13 Jul 2010
I watched Hable con Ella (Talk to Her) for the first time finally and I enjoyed it. Almodovar's got a Kieslowski sense of lighting and atmospheric comfort, but I don't think his pacing is on the same level. For having so much character development and plot progressions, I found it strange that my mind still found itself abstracted at times. Nevertheless, the film has some heartfelt dialogue and honest interactions, even if it isn't as sentimental as it could have been.
Recommended to all, albeit not emphatically.
Edit: those bullfighting scenes really pissed me off, fwiw.
