Woowwww, and I thought I'd seen Almodovar at his best! It feels like after each time I watch a film of his I proclaim it his best, but this topples them all. I've never felt so much sympathy for a character that, by all intensive purposes, is fucking insane.
It manages to be extremely heartfelt and touching while resolving around such a dark and disturbing subject matter. The performances are astounding and by the end I nearly had tears in my eyes...if you haven't seen this or any other Almodovar flick, start here.
