Tales From The Darkside.

Starring Deborah Harry, Matthew Lawrence, Christian Slater, Rae Dawn Chong, and Steve Buscemi.

Written by Michael McDowwel and George A. Romero.

Directed by John Harrison.

1 hour and 33 minutes.

Rated R.

"Lot 249" is based upon the story by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle and "Cat From Hell" is based upon the short story by Stephen King.

The man who wrote Beetlejuice Michael McDowwel teams up with George A Romero and Stephen King to write the movie Tales From The Darkside, with director John Harrison. The movie is based on a TV show, where it's now a movie. The bad thing about this movie is it is only 3 stories plus one more with Matt, so it's really 4.

The movie Tales From The Darkside The Movie is about a boy (Matthew Lawrence) who is chained up by an evil witch (Deborah Harry). She plans to cook him, but he decides to stall her for a minute by telling her 4 stories he read.

The first one "Lot 249" stars Christian Slater as Andy, he and his friend go visit a man who looks really scary with his bug eyes (Steve Buscemi). He said he got a mummy which he calls "Lot 249". They open him up and find a scroll from him. The mummy later wakes up to kill people.

When I saw this one I was suprised of the killing they did, good job Sir Arthur Conan Doyle and Michael McDowwel.

The second one is "Cat From Hell", a Stephen King story where an old man hires an assasin to kill the cat. The old man is rich for his pills and tells him while making his pills some 5,000 cats were killed in the making of the pills. He then tells them that cats send a cat from hell to kill his family and him. He was right because the cat kill all of his family making it look like an accident so hired the man to kill it. Who will win, you will be left suprised.

The story is not scary at all, but it is sort of funny and tripy. I think this one was my favorite, because there is 2 thing to do in a horror movie I'll tell you later.

The third one is "Lover's Vow" about man who has nothing and makes a deal with a gargoyal, after killing one of his friends. Later he ends up finding a beautiful woman who he falls in love with and his wildest dreams come true.

This one is a little boring, but it is pretty cool. It will make you shriek!

The fourth one is "Wrap Around Story" as the woman was going for the kill, the boy started telling the story about himself. Can the boy's story save his life.

I like this one cause it had a happy ending.

The movie is not scary at all, instead it decide to go to option 2 scare them with gore and grisly violence. The thing I like about this movie is that there is plenty of gore, it's fun, a good cast, happy endings, and lot more. What I don't like is the boy tells only 3 stories from the book. I think they should have at least added 2 more or 1. I think you should rent this movie or watch it on TV, you will like it. On the other note, I saw this movie on TV cut, but when I saw on VHS uncut, I got tons of gore!

Acting: some nice acting, not cheap at least. Acting is good sort of.

Suspense: not that suspenseful, but the kills were suprising.

Special Effects: nice special effects, you will like it.

Gore: decapitation, cats going to peoples mouth, and more... gore is satisfying.

Nudity: Just a boob and a man's chest.
