Review of Tale of a Vampire (1993) by Private U — 05 Jun 2007
Despite the fact that, because I know very little of Edgar Allan Poe's work and therefore no real understanding of its literary references, I still list Tale of a Vampire under my favourite films of all time.
Alex is such a beautiful and romantic character in his loneliness that you instantly fall in love with him! He is weak in his unhappiness but it only adds to his elegance, and I?ve always loved the romanticism modern authors associate vampires.
Ultimately it is incredibly tragic, leaving you in the same state of mind Alex has probably been in for the last couple of centuries, but it's all good!
