Review of Taking Woodstock (2009) by Axel J — 21 Jul 2010
If you have ever been on a bigger open air event you know that the magic isn't in the center alone. Si he doesn't try to impress with reloading the Woodstock show. Instead he tells many little stories around the center event - and he gets it.
There are many lovely, little scenes.
Ang Lee never trys to make a big thing out of anything. Even a LSD-Sequence isn't blown up into a cgi-orgy.
And this modesty expresses the whole spirit of what must have been going on in these "legendary" days.
Very entertaining.
(But hard to belive that it was "R" rated in USA...Oh, oh, there is NUDITY in it!!! Danger for all the kids. And even drug use! UH!
LOL).
