Review of Taking Woodstock (2009) by Tommy F — 23 Dec 2009
Interesting and worth seeing, particularly if you are interested in, or grew up in American 60s culture. Good points: Interesting characters and an interesting-enough story. Well done settings. I visited the setting of the Woodstock festival myself for the first time ever last year and enjoyed seeing it in the film.
Bad points: A slick, superficial representation of hippie/youth culture. I love 60s hippie/youth culture myself, but it was a lot more complex than the image portrayed in this film. Watching today's young people trying to move like 60s youth.
Too loose.
