Review of Taking Woodstock (2009) by Dana A — 28 Dec 2009
I was never so happy when I heard about this movie. I even knew some people that went down to the location and were extras for the big woodstock scene. Then I saw the trailer and it was like wtf? I expected this soulful, serious movie about the music and the creation of woodstock.
It features, Johnathan Groff and Emile Hirsch. I wanted singing and drugs. Instead was a boring screwball comedy. This was terrible and just when I was getting over Ang Lee screwing up so many movies.
Geesh talk about a dissapointment. I understand this movie wasn't about Woodstock itself but more about the behind the scenes at the motel. However, nothing really happened. No story, no comflicts, nothing.
The movie was also supposed to be about him trying to get to Woodstock, however, we never see what kept him from getting there. The movie was a waste of my time.
