Review of Taking Woodstock (2009) by Will H — 03 Jan 2010
Watched the movie with pretty high hopes. It was one of the movies that was premiered in my home state, Goa, before the national premiere (in India).
However I was disappointed!! Yeah, it does cover the basics of Woodstock, but somehow doesn't manage to get into to soul of Woodstock. It's almost as if Ang Lee has something against Hippies, as they're portrayed as a bunch of drug toting morons who've run away from home, and ready to get nude at the click of a button and doesn't really explain the hippie movement, which was so much more than that!! The ending too is disappointing.
This movie could have been so much more, but unfortunately it isn't!! :( :(.
