Review of Taking Woodstock (2009) by Brad B — 15 Jan 2010
3 out of 5 - Entertaining look at the behind-the-scenes odyssey which was turning sleepy US country town into the venue of the biggest concert ever, and the effects the influx of hippies had on the owners of a small nearby hotel.
Fascinating recreation of the events. The film does run out of dramatic steam towards the end, but well worth a look nonetheless. Ang Lee once again makes effectiove use of split screen and 8mm film effects in documentary style sections, and Danny Elfman provides the perfect score for this movie.
