For a movie called "Taking Woodstock" it had little to do with the actual music festival. Yes, it does explain how the festival came to take place in White Lake, NY but beyond that there really isn't much attention paid to it.
The movie is filled with characters you find yourself not caring about and by movies end you feel as if there is no ultimate pay off. My biggest problem with the movie is how none of the music from Woodstock is even featured in the movie.
What a bust.
