Review of Taking Woodstock (2009) by Scot C — 13 May 2010
"A Generation Began In His Backyard.".
I was very curious to see this film, because I've seen the famous documentary, and I think everyone that wasn't there, wishes they could have been!. Ang Lee again shows he's versatility, and shows the creation of Woodstock from a lighter, more humorous angle. I would love to see another take on it showing a more gritty, raw angle. But this film was perfect for what it was. The performances were spot on, especially from Imelda Staunton. And that era and its colours were captured perfectly, and by the end of the film I just wanted to go back and experience Woodstock more than ever before!
