Review of Taking Woodstock (2009) by Tom D — 15 May 2010
What a great little film. Full of wonderful performances by faces you may recognize, but can't remember from what. Demetri Martin is anything but his usual stand-up persona as a young man fighting to keep his family's business above water while pining for the life he truly desires.
Imelda Staunton is unrecognizable as his mother and after watching the film, I want to know where Henry Goodman (who plays his father with dignity and tenderness) has been all my movie-watching life. Leiv Schreiber is absolutely stunning and the rest of the cast, who make brief cameos throughout, round out another wonderful film from Ang Lee.
