Review of Taking Woodstock (2009) by Ethan H — 16 Feb 2011
I liked this movie more than I probably should. It didn't really go many places, but the general feel of the movie was a welcoming one, reminding us of what the 60's were supposed to stand for and mostly asking us why we aren't living that life today.
Jonathan Groff was underused and does the best with a small part, Liev Schreiber is priceless, Imelda Staunton works wonders with a role that begs for cliche-level acting, and Demetri Martin makes a great impression in the lead role.
In all, it's a missed opportunity, but it does have an idea.
