Review of Taking Lives (2004) by Jess . — 10 Sep 2010
I really liked the tension between the characters in this movie and I also think any other Dexter fan would like this. Indiffernt to the other reviewers who panned this movie as a predictable whodunit or Angelina Joilie as a lack luster feme-fatale.
I really think these reviewers missed the enjoyment of the movie is not figuring who-done-it but more in the why and how will the arc will play out. Joile really get into the role of a FBI agent with a history.
A little Jody Foster from Silence of the Lambs with a damaged quality mixed in. The most chilling scenes are of the young serial killer running away from home and developing his craft on a cross-country bus trip.
The enjoyment of the movie is not figuring who-done-it but more in the why and how the arc will play out. I love the unique quality that shooting in Quebec adds to the picture.
