Review of Taking Lives (2004) by Matthew L — 12 Dec 2013
While the filmmakers are certainly not breaking any new ground here, and the film is very predictable, Taking Lives is an effective thriller than is enjoyable while it lasts. Angelina Jolie and Ethan Hawke are not stretching their acting chops here but that's okay, their performances do just fine.
The second and third acts are when the movie really kicks in to high gear and gets the adrenaline pumping, and Jolie does a nice job of carrying the film. Overall, I thought it was a good thriller and and enjoyable watch.
