Review of Taking Chance (2009) by Karan S — 23 May 2010
This provocative, moving true story by HBO Films stars Kevin Bacon as a Marine Col. who escorts the body of a Marine killed in action in Iraq back to his hometown in Wyoming. Along the way, Col. Mike Strobl (Bacon) is touched by the small kindnesses of everyday people along the way.
Warning: It's a tearjerker. I cried throughout and couldn't help but think of a friend currently serving in Iraq and a friend recently killed serving in Afghanistan.
