Review of Taking 5 (2007) by Steve S — 21 Sep 2008
:rotten: :rotten: (out of four).
Lightweight and teen-oriented, Taking 5 could have been much worse and I surprised that is was as watchable as it was.
The plot is pure fluff: Two teen girls want to impress their classmates by getting a popular boy band to play a concert at their high school. This is all pretty silly, but Alona Tal and Daniella Monet as the two teeny-boppers, offer a fun and sometimes witty portrayal of adolescence idolism. The Band The Click Five have fun in their boy band roles, though they are not great actors.
This could have been a complete disaster, instead it is watchable and totally forgettable.
