Review of Takers (2010) by Caio R — 30 Jul 2011
Godfellas is a part of our generation cause it was ahead of its time n is a classic now. takers completely jumps through its potential into a whole nother category that I thought was unreachable by the movie.
the entire movie, the script , the actors, the action out does expectations due to what they had to work with. chris brown shows shocking ability to actually act believe it or not. Hayden Chrstiensen is probably my favorite along with Brown.
the movie oozes swagger. from the entire cast. idris elba displays a break out roll that is timeless. once the stunts get rolling your eyes are in disbelief. even a c list actor like matt dillon comes to play ball in takers he shows he has talent without a doubt.
paul walker is useless and TI is alright but predictable. the trailer gives away (and so does the whole feel of the movie) kind of who will die and whats going to happen. now here is where the movie fell off for me.
they shouldnt have killed off some of the characters who they did. and who they left alive went along with the predictablity of the ending which minused a star for me. so if it had at better ending this movie could compete with Inception for best of 2010.
but it is what it is. 3rd best of 2010 so far behind Karatee Kid and Inception.
