Review of Takers (2010) by Simon M — 02 Feb 2012
A good movie has no gaps in the story line. Try not to think to hard during this film. If subjected to the level of analysis of a Film Appreciation 101 class then the holes will appear. This movie does not bear such scrutiny unfortunately.
The sub plot of Matt Dilon being estranged from his wife and a poor father to his daughter could have been scrapped and the film stock used to create a tighter narrative especially in regard to the mysteriously all knowing Tip Harris.
Really, if this movie is watched whilst enjoying beer and pretzels on the couch, it should entertain. Just do not expect high art.
