Review of Takers (2010) by Zach Z — 08 Mar 2011
Action. A group of bankrobbers are presented with a major robbery opportunity (30 mil) by "Ghost" (T.I.), who is revealed to have been somewhat betrayed by the group in the past. Two cop brothers seek to prevent the robbery.
Ghost pulls of the deal with them, but sends in Russians to take their share and the two groups ensue in fighting. Ghost tries to take all of the money but is shot, as are both cop brothers (one lives), while two of the bankrobbers leave with all of the money.
While the ending isn't of the typical convenience of Hollywood endings, it could have left a larger emotional appeal given the previos deaths. Although the action made it relatively fun to watch, it was neither original nor moving, thus forgetable.
Remember to make a lasting emotional impact throughout the whole movie, and sum it up at the end with a lasting impact that is applicable to all lives and memorable. Also, dont plague the story line with cliches associated with my genre.
