Review of Taken (2004) by Campbell P — 11 Dec 2014
Taken was a perfect example of a solid action flick. Taken stars Liam Neeson as Bryan, a retired ex-cop. The beginning to this movie is incredible. When Bryan tells his daughter that she's going to be taken my heart dropped with fear.
The intenseness of this whole movie is incredibly fun. Bryan's famous "I will find you, and I will kill you" line is memorable and awesome and really gets you ready for the danger to come.
While the beginning of the movie was great, the middle had a bit of trouble. At times there were missing character explanations and also names were a big problem. At times I couldn't figure out who the person was until someone said their name.
While the action was fun to watch there were times where I felt like it was really unnecessary. I really didn't see the point of killing some people in this movie. A small issue I have with Taken is that I would've liked one main villain.
It was cool to see how it was this whole evil organization but I feel like this would be a more memorable movie if we had A villain. The daughter was a really bad character at times. She always gets what she wants and doesn't learn anything from what she experienced.
She was either way too happy or crying, and that bothered me a bit. Taken was a pretty good action movie that did well in terms of acting and action but had a few problems with character background. B.
