There is no affectation that is too quirky, no cliche left untouched, no line reading profound enough in this 2 hour pretension marathon. The only saving graces are four great performances, including a comparatively serious performance by Sarah Silverman that is demonstrative of her range.

Michelle Williams is a manic-pixie-dream-girl, of the order to challenge Zoe Deschanel's claim to the throne, who meets mysterious stanger/walking metpahor Luke Kirby, a Canadian Rickshaw driver, on a business trip.

Williams is married to Seth Rogen, a cookbook writer who's writing a cookbook on chicken. Because chicken is bland and so is Rogen, because they're both bland get it? They're both bland. Like they're not very exciting, but a rickshaw driver, that's a spicy meatball, or spicy pot sticker as the case may be.

What happens over the next two hours is EXACTLY what you think will happen. No trope is left unturned. Michelle Williams' character may be afraid to be afraid, I'm afraid I don't care.
