Review of Take This Waltz (2011) by Jeffrey M — 04 Jul 2012
Take This Waltz is a quiet, muted, and detached romantic drama, with some comedic overtones. Like many independent films, it suffers from a pace that boarders on sluggish, and a script that, at times, seems a bit unfocused. It does, however, remain mostly engaging because of the strong cast, with a surprising amount of chemistry between Michelle Williams and Seth Rogan. The film does take a surprisingly honest look at relationships, it doesn't necessarily leave with a coherent theme, with an un-fulfilling ending. Overall, it's novel approach and unique story just outweigh its deficiencies.
3/5 Stars.
