Review of Take This Waltz (2011) by Sean G — 09 Dec 2012
For me, the film was made stronger by the acting, the ordinary quality, but mostly by the visuals. No one has mentioned the symbolic use of colour used in the film. I enjoyed the use of orange as a filter to colour the character Margot's melancholy and turquoise in the bedding of both men to signify the connection between them in moments of happiness.
One character summed up the entire movie in saying something to the effect that 'new gets old'. The contrived light house scenes and obvious wear house Centre Island Tribute detracted, while the vintage wardrobe for Margot, locations and furnishings made for interesting eye candy.
