Review of Take the Money and Run (1969) by Eric P — 08 Mar 2008
Not a bad early Woody Allen flick, but most of the gags lose their punch on the second viewing. There are still a few hilarious moments, however, and it's interesting to see how Allen would later take much of this material and refine it with better writing and direction in many of his later films.
Also interesting is that the mockumentary style he employs was considerably ahead of its time. I believe, though, he used it to better effect in Zelig.
