Thrillingly suspenseful and tense in spite of it's subtlety. One of the best films I've seen in quite a while. Michael Shannon deserves a lot of recognition for this role. It's a stark study of rural America, mental illness and dread.
Go into it with undivided attention. Can't recommend it enough.
