Review of Take Shelter (2011) by Debanjan C — 24 May 2013
It's a film thats all about the journey and doesn't have any regrets about exploring these moments, especially from the point of view of a regular man plagued by the possibility mental illness and a coming apocalypse .
. this is one where you really can't guess how things are going to turn out .. it gives no clue as to the outcome, leaving the door of possibility open up until the last few seconds .. Shannon gives a great performance, and I think he is one of the most underrated actor of our time .
. his range is just so profound, even within the confines of such a defined personality as the one of Curtis .. the deliberate pace of this film allows us to absorb every detail of the proceedings, letting us inside the terror Curtis and his family are experiencing .
.
