Review of Take Shelter (2011) by Anthony K — 30 Mar 2014

Totally spellbinding, a gripping master class in horror/drama cinema. Shannon's performance is characteristically brilliant, and Chastain brings dimension to what could have been a much smaller role.

One last piece of praise is for the cinematography (ok, and the script!) which itself evokes mental illness in a way that leaves the audience equally shaken. Not sure how I feel about the ending but this film is impeccable.
