Review of Take Me Home Tonight (2011) by Jeff L — 27 Jul 2011
I was expecting a silly rom-com but came away pleasantly surprised by this 1980s-themed flick about doing something with your life, even anything. It's disguised as a movie about fake identities (like 'Monte Carlo'), so viewers get a lesson about remaining true to oneself AND making a name for oneself.
The music is nostalgic (Duran Duran), the clothes and hairstyles are colourful and fluffy , but it's the chemistry between Grace and Teresa Palmer that pull this movie out a morass of cliches. Viewers will root for the unlikely relationship between a geek and a hot chick.
