Review of Take Me Home Tonight (2011) by Inês M — 30 Jul 2011
Being the typical tale of the high-school crush, Take Me Home Tonight doesn't try too hard to achieve excellence. The story is interesting, having definitely a lot to it, acting isn't bad at all and the soundtrack was amazing. What failed ?
About the story itself, it's quite too typical. There's this guy (Matt Franklin), ho graduated from MIT and is a total brainiac, but works on a videostore a doesn't really know what to do with his life. Even worse, he's still stuck on his high-school crush, who just happens to walk into his workplace one day. And then they keep meeting at parties and so on, so on. Besides typical, the story is quite predictable, and doesn't add a thing to the typical tale of long lost love who ends together. They could have done better though, since besides being typical, the story isn't that bad. It is supported by amazing acting and an insanely good soundtrack.
The huge failure on this movie lives, precisely in the end of the story (which i'm not going to tell you, by the way). Anyway, I thought the movie was weak, but still I advise you to watch it and take your own conclusions.
