Review of Take Me Home Tonight (2011) by Zack S — 04 Aug 2011
Take Me Home Tonight wasn't really the movie I was expecting. It's actually pretty decent, because I even laughed a few times. Problem is though, it could have been a great comedy seeing how it pays homage to the movies of the 80s complete with a great soundtrack.
However, one of the main problems with the film lies within the cast. Topher Grace, Anna Faris, and Teresa Palmer were just fine. However, Dan Fogler was pretty unfunny and annoying here. The film overall never really lives up to some of the other comedies it aspires to be.
It could have been better simply because there are only some funny moments. That being said though, this film does have charm and even a sense of sweetness to it. I'm not sure about repeat viewings, but I do think this is worth seeing because there is still fun to be had here.
