Review of Take Me Home Tonight (2011) by Mikey H — 02 Sep 2011
This movie was on my radar, but fell off a bit since it came and went in the theaters. Finally watched it last night with low expectations, and I actually enjoyed it and it was better than I anticipated.
It's kind of like Can't Hardly Wait taking place in the 80's, just replace Ethan Embry and J. Love Hewitt with Topher Grace and Teresa Palmer. Dan Fogler wasn't even as annoying as expected.
Great 80's soundtrack as well. This movie fits in with the whole teen/party comedies like Fast Times At Ridgemont High, Pretty In Pink, and Superbad. Don't expect this movie to compare to a Saving Private Ryan, but I have to admit this one is a hidden gem you should check out if you like these kinds of movies.
Rating: B+, exceeded expectations!
