Review of Take Me Home Tonight (2011) by Patrick H — 06 Dec 2011
This movie wasn't anything special. It pretty much was a typical "crazy-night-that-can-change-your-life" type of story, but went back to the 80s to tell the tale. Nothing super memorable, but there are some cool scenes. Although, a lot of it borrows off the usual cliche's of the genre.
I think it's biggest drawback is that there really is nothing huge at stake for any of these characters in relation to the life changing theme of the night. They all learn something, but nothing that makes you really invest in the story. The one that does have the most significant impact, takes a backseat to the main storyline too. Of course, the film has an awesome 80s soundtrack, so thats a plus, but hey, its the 80s. Everything song was a hit and is memorable.
I had fun, but definitely not a night, that I will remember. Check out the better films in the genre for that experience.
