Review of Take Me Home Tonight (2011) by Ryan W — 06 Dec 2011
Just a big pile of meh. The parts that are funny can mainly be attributed to Lucy Punch and Demetri Martin, but everything else reeks of laziness. I was shocked to see the filmmakers did NOTHING with Michael Ian Black, who isn't given a single funny line in the one scene he appears.
He was definitely wasted, unlike Dan Fogler who continues to prove to me that he's a mix of Jonah Hill and Jack Black, except without the talent or likability and is far more irritating than either of them.
And look, we know this takes place in the 80s, but there's a difference between referencing something and crowbarring it in.
