Review of Take Me Home Tonight (2011) by Mike C — 17 Jan 2012
A romantic moment featuring a blonde on a trampoline? What is this, some kind of joke? For all this movie's failures, and there are plenty, it does have a nice soundtrack, and the trampoline scene and the scene where Topher and the blonde first dance are worth watching.
Why? I had no plans to rent this movie, but I go through tons of movies and I happen to really like the Eddie Money song after which it's named. I like Topher, so why not? It's not terrible. A little comical, a little dramatic, but all-in-all, fairly pointless. And ridiculous. But the romance storyline was decent albeit cliched (oh no, you lied!).
Only other thing to say is what a tragedy Anna Farris is. A pure American tragedy. She was a good looking girl. Not so much any more with all the fake stuff. It's half understandable for an older actress, say Sandra Bullock, to pull that, but not Anna Farris. On the other hand, the dazzling redhead Angie Everhart can still bring it. She's out of her prime by about 15 years...I remember her in swimsuit issues from about 1996, but not bad...
