Not everyone will be able to appreciate the various video-game references, or the fusion of modern rock music, martial arts fantasy, and steampunk-ish technology; for those who do however, this movie is a blast.

One of the most refreshingly original films (in terms of its presentation and style) to come out of Hong Kong/China for a long time. Although it doesn't really "end" elegantly, Fung nevertheless succeeds in creating such a fun film one just can't wait for part 2 to hit the theatres.
