Review of Tag (2018) by Vitor F — 06 Sep 2018
Never have I thought I would enjoy a movie starring Ed Helms....that wasn't Captain Underpants anyway. For the first two thirds I was absolutely loving this movie. This is a kind of comedy I love. The humor was constantly hitting bullseye and It was absolutely fun as hell.
I really thought I was going to consider this one of my favorite comedies of the decade....and then we get to the last 20 minutes. Not thats it bad or it ruins everything that happened before that moment, but it does get pretty distasteful.
Without spoiling what happens, there is something involving a miscarriage and someone legitimately getting a cancer tumor. While I got an idea about what people are suppose to take away from this, I constantly thought this is clearly not the movie to talk about it or, at least, discuss it in this way.
I would say after the AA meeting scene....I think you'll only miss a few chuckles, so your not losing much.
