Review of Tag (2018) by Testtrak — 24 Jun 2018
Tag is another comedy that takes a silly idea that while intriguing remains unoriginal. The technical specs are on par with many major film releases we receive nowadays so there's nothing new outstanding done in that department but none of it is bad or takes away from the viewing experience.
The comedy only had me laughing occasionally and most of the dialog that is meant to be funny drags on far too long. I'm a sucker for sudden slapstick moments where are a character unexpectedly hurts themselves, but other than those moments the humor is nothing special.
The tag premise itself though, while over the top, leads to some really moments throughout the movie that bring out the little kid in all of us. They are by far the best part of the movie, but they don't save it from being another bland modern comedy.
