Review of Tae Guk Gi: The Brotherhood of War (2004) by Alex S — 26 Jun 2008
Tae Guk Gi was a movie I saw a long time before and I was able to watch it again recently. I shed many tears when I saw Tae Guk Gi and again when I saw it again. I decided to make a review on this movie for sometime.
This movie really affected me as a person, a Korean and an older brother . I've heard many stories of The Korean War, my grandparents were drafted into the war. Speaking of which most the of the events and actions comitted in the movie were quite acurate.
This movie really enlightened me about both war and brotherhood. The fighting, the action, the drama really had me at the edge of my seat in the Cinema. Tae Guk Gi is like the Korean version of Saving Private Ryan, perhaps has even more gore than SPR.
And for a Korean movie to gain the rate of 3 1/2 out of 5 is pretty high. I throughly enjoyed this movie to the fullest extent. And I believe all viewers Korean or not will learn a good lesson about life and family.
I sure did.
