Review of Tae Guk Gi: The Brotherhood of War (2004) by Davi L — 02 Apr 2011
Fantastic. Riveting, dramatic and beyond emotional. This movie is so simple, yet so beautful. Visually, it's like any other war movie with bombs going off and people getting blown to pieces. There's alot of killing and such, but you never really notice it too much. It's the relationship between the two brothers that really impacts you. It's no wonder this was rated the best Korean movie of all of time. It's terribly sad, so if you're the emotional type...watch it anyway. It's worth it.
*Edit: When I first watched this, I had no knowledge of Korean actors but looking at the cast now, I definitely understand why it was rated so high. Jang Dong-gun, Won Bin, Choi Min-sik. Such brilliant actors.
