Review of Tactical Force (2011) by Brad B — 11 Sep 2011
Steve Austin's latest film is farfetched. Has a rather ridiculous plot and has some of the cheesiest dialogue you have ever heard. And that's what makes it fantastic. I loved every stupid minute of it.
Everything you'd want from a b-movie action flick is in this. Over the top gun fights, outrageous villains and outlandish plot holes. Austin plays Captain Tate. The leader of a shoot first, ask questions later Los Angeles SWAT team.
After the team is suspended they are assigned to undergo a re-training exercise. They inevitably get caught up in a conflict between two rival gangs. Clearly from the fact that this film stars Austin and Michael Jai White it was predictable from the start that at various moments during the film.
The good guys and bad guys would run out of bullets and have to get into physical fights. Que some well choreographed fight scenes. Big kudos have to go to Lexa Doi. Who holds her own against her male leads in the action scenes.
(With the added bonus of looking incredibly hot in her SWAT gear) This film will never win any awards. But anyone who is likely to sit and watch this type of film will know that already. A definite must see for Steve Austin fans.
