Review of Tabloid (2011) by Greg M — 14 Jul 2011
It's a story about two young people, deeply in love, that are being torn apart by brutal outside forces and against all odds fight to reunite and heal their broken hearts. Or maybe it is a story about a self-obsessed, blindly in love, borderline insane young girl that goes on an adventure that includes guns, kidnapping, suitcases of money and disguises, and the British tabloids.
The movie is thoroughly enjoyable, as it takes you on a roller coaster ride of emotions ranging from empathy to happiness (or rather laughter) to shock to pity (and then back to laughter again.).
Tabloid is definitely a must-see film if you appreciate great absurd, and even tragic comedy that is rooted in reality. Or is it?
