Review of Table 19 (2017) by Robby K — 29 Jun 2017
There are a few moments that are genuinely heartfelt and a few jokes that generate at least a smirk. However, most of the film is predictable and often times sluggish. Craig Robinson and Lisa Kudrow's relationship never gets completely fleshed out while both Tony Revolori and Stephen Merchant generally fade into the background so much it's like they're not even there.
Anna Kendrick and June Squibb are quite good, and Wyatt Russell has some of the best scenes (although they are few and far between), but they can't salvage the lack of cohesiveness and uninspired screenplay.
