Proper Perspective: The answer to the question, "What would it look like if six average-to-modest Saturday Night Live characters all hung out at a wedding for 105 minutes?" was answered. The answer is not very entertaining...

Official Synopsis: Ex-maid of honor Eloise, having been relieved of her duties after being unceremoniously dumped by the best man via text, decides to attend the wedding anyway only to find herself seated with 5 "random" guests at the dreaded Table 19.

Plot: Eloise (Anna Kendrick), after being dumped a few months before her best friend's wedding by her long-term boyfriend and the weddings best man, Teddy (Wyatt Russell) and replaced as maid of honor, she shows up to the wedding and meets a collection of characters that are all sitting at the seemingly rejected "Table 19.".

Roll credits.

Take: None of the actors in this movie are in the same movie and the movie does not deserve the actors they had. The cast of Lisa Kudrow, Craig Robinson, Stephen Merchant, and even young Tony Revolori are all above this content.

They work with what they have, which are character corks and one-liners, but none of the emotion or moments are earned because nobody is in the same movie.

As an idea, a table of 5-6 characters that all have a tie to the wedding, but are not as important as the rest of the guests is interesting. But, the execution, script, and direction did the idea no favors. This movie was written by the Duplass Brothers, Mark and Jay, who have written some good small ideas including the HBO series "Togetherness." Jeffrey Blitz directed, most known for directing episodes of "The Office.".

Recommendation: I am as big a fan as any of Anna Kendrick, Craig Robinson, the Duplass Brothers, and the talent behind this movie, but at best "Table 19" is a TV Movie with great principals. Skipping this one is not going to impact your 2017 movie going experience...

In 48 hours I have seen Stephen Merchant's entire IMDB movie list. Logan, now Table 19.
