Review of Table 19 (2017) by Kristen M — 16 Mar 2017
Go see this before it leaves theaters. While it is not an earth-shatteringly good movie, it's very enjoyable.
Anna Kendrick is her typical adorable self, improving upon her character with good reactions and giving lines better than they were probably written. I thought Wyatt Russell, as Anna's ex-boyfriend, was extremely appealing.
The cast of characters who support Anna's "Eloise" during her time of need are somewhat unappealing in the beginning, but as events progress they all become more understandable and relatable. I personally liked Lisa Kudrow, and how her relationship with Craig Robinson evolved -- but I particularly enjoyed Stephen Merchant. I think this guy is under-utilized as far as comedies go, and he was a complete joy to watch in this one.
There are very few good comedies out currently -- and while we didn't laugh hard, we laughed often, which made for a very pleasant movie.
