Review of T2 Trainspotting (2017) by Adam T — 13 Feb 2017
Danny Boyle's 'T2 Trainspotting' (2017) is a worthy sequel to the original 'Trainspotting' (1996). Personally, I found the narrative of 'T2' to be stronger and more mature than the one featured in the original film.
The acting from the entire cast was effective, especially from Robert Carlyle who steals every scene he is featured in. A negative I have about 'T2 Trainspotting' surrounds how it's shot. The camera work is trying hard to emulate the style found in 'Trainspotting', however, the narrative doesn't really gel with this creative decision.
I know that that's a minor thing to criticise, but the camera work should be reflective of the narrative that's being told, and in 'T2 Trainspotting' it was not.
