Review of T2 Trainspotting (2017) by Mike B — 25 Mar 2017
An incredible piece of cinema. Not only do you believe that this is where these characters would be 20 years later, it's where you'd expect them to be. This really solidifies Boyle's place as one of the great film directors of our generation, and it's also a testament to the cast, who pick up right where they left off.
This is film is real. It doesn't contain any of the raw shocks or OMG moments of the first film, but this is a visceral, real, joyous yet sad look into the life of young addicts who reach middle age.
If you were even remotely invested in these characters in the original film, this film will grab you from the word go and entrance you.
