Review of T2 Trainspotting (2017) by Henry A — 17 Mar 2017
Twenty years after screwing his friends over in a drug deal, Renton (Ewan McGregor) returns to Edinburgh and reunites with friends Simon (Jonny Lee Miller) and Spud (Ewen Bremner) to try and concoct a new money-making scheme, but when Begbie (Robert Carlyle) hears of Renton's return, he wants revenge.
Give director Danny Boyle credit for not simply rehashing the first film, but the vibrancy is gone as well. After an hour or so the film simply meanders and never really lands on stable footing, despite a couple decent set pieces and some good photography.
