Review of Syriana (2005) by Jaye G — 18 Jan 2009
Stephan Gaghan's "Syriana" is a bold and exciting take on how deceit and corruption fuels the way politics and business work in America and with other countries all over the world. The film is very well shot and acted, and really has a lot to say about the pursuit of wealth and power.
A great ensemble cast at work here, although perhaps George Clooney's performance does rise up a little above the rest, but he's truly great in this film. There were some times I was just confused however, which keeps this film from elite status, but it's still a very good movie.
