Interesting drama/political thriller written and directed by Stephen Gaghan [screenwriter of "Rules of Engagement" and "Traffic"], inspired by the book "See No Evil" by Robert Baer.

The plot is a bit slow at times but multi-layered. The style of this film was very similar to "Traffic" and "Crash", everything and everyone is connected somehow, it might take more than one viewing to fully understand and/or appreciate each story arc but it's worth it.

Great performances by Jeffrey Wright ["Cadillac Records","W.","The Manchurian Candidate"], Academy Award winner George Clooney ["Up in the Air"], Alexander Siddig ["Clash of the Titans"], Matt Damon [The "Bourne" Trilogy], Chris Cooper ["The Kingdom", "Breach"], Christopher Plummer, Amanda Peet ["The Whole Nine Yards"], Mazhar Munir, Tim Blake Nelson ["Leaves of Grass"], Mark Strong ["Sherlock Holmes","Kick-Ass"], and William Hurt.

Good score and great cinematography. Overall this is a very compelling film about power, greed, and the lengths the United States and other countries will go through to get oil.
